Visit to the Neonatal Unit at Simpsons Maternity Unit

Ms F took two children, a P4 and a P6, to the Neonatal Unit this morning to have a look around and deliver their woollen hats.  The group had knitted a little hat each and then Isla and her granny had knitted a lot more at home!

We were met by Hillary who showed the girls the different incubators they have in the Unit for the premature babies.  Then we had a look at the laundry room and saw the clothes with velcro everywhere to make it easier to dress and undress the babies in their incubators.  The nappies were tiny!

Then we were able to look through the window into the nursery and we saw wee babies wrapped up snugly under blankets lifting their little hands and kicking their little feet.

The girls were given a little teddy bear and a badge each with the Simpsons special care babies logo.  It was a really worthwhile visit and the girls were really appreciated for their efforts.  They are looking forward to sharing the positive feedback with the rest of the team and Mrs Campbell.
