This week, we have been learning the sounds / letters qu, x, y and z. Keep on practising at home using the sound cards you have been given. See if you can build some two or three letter words using the sounds you know.
Please also keep working on forming letters correctly using the sheet previously sent home.
These are common words that we cannot read by ‘sounding out’ or blending. These words need to be learned by sight. This week, we have been learning the words ‘want’, ‘saw’ and ‘no’. Keep practising these using the cards sent home. How many of these words can you spot when you are out and about?
Reading books have been sent home this week. Please refer to your reading record to see the activity you should complete at home each evening.
This week, play a dice game, such as ‘Snakes and Ladders’, with someone at home. This will help you to practise your skills in matching dot paterns to numbers.
We are already getting excited about performing our Nativity and have started to practise some of the songs in school. To help us put on a fantastic performance, we would like you to practise the songs at home too. This week, please practise ‘Away in a Manger’ with someone at home. Follow the link below where you will be able to listen to the tune and hear the words in each verse.
