This week, we have been introduced to digraphs – when two letters together make one sound. We have been learning ‘sh’ and ‘ch’ and have been reading and building words using these sounds. Use the sound cards you have been given to build some words using these sounds. Don’t forget to keep practising the other sounds previously taught too!
Please also keep working on forming letters correctly using the sheet previously sent home.
These are common words that we cannot read by ‘sounding out’ or blending. These words need to be learned by sight. Our new tricky word this week is ‘go’. Keep on using the cards sent home to revise all our tricky words.
Please refer to your reading record to see the activity you should complete at home each evening.
This week, practise your number skills using the suggestion on your maths numeracy wall to have a scavenger hunt. Ask someone at home to make a list of things for you to find. This could be 6 spoons, 4 twigs, 5 books etc.
Well done to everyone for learning their lines so well; our Nativity is really beginning to take shape. We want our singing to be as fabulous as the way we say our lines and it will really make a difference if everyone can ask someone at home to help them sing all the words to Little Donkey. Please also keep working on Away in a Manger (particularly the last verse).
Please also remember that costumes should be in school by Monday 5 December.
