P2 Homework 7.12.16


There is no reading books going homein the lead up to Christmas .  We are identifying ‘magic e’ words as we read and tricky words. Keep working on the sounds and tricky words you have covered this term.


We are looking at ‘magic e’ in class. We are looking at ‘magic e’ changing the sound of the vowel ‘i’. Can you think of 5 magic e words that change the vowel ‘i’. e.g. kite. Put these into sentences and draw a picture to match the sentence. Count how many vowels and consonants are in each sentence.

We have started working on block 4 tricky words.  Pelase work on identifying and reading these words. There will be sheets going home in purple folders with tricky words and sounds to work on.

This weeks tricky words are little and most.

We will be issuing a Block 4 Tricky Word Wall in due course.


Continue working on counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

We are working on creating and completing number sequences by using addition and subtraction.

Remember addition involves counting on and using the symbols + and =.

Subtraction  involves counting backwards and using the symbols – and =.

Use these links to practice number bonds up to 20 and if you want a challenge try up to 100.
