This week we will have Spelling, Topic and Numeracy homework. Your child should also be bringing home a reading book and they will be directed in school as to how much they should be reading each week.
• ous says us in the final syllable
• To support the breaking up of words into syllables as a spelling strategy
e.g. tre / men / dous
scan / dal / ous
To practice your spelling this week I would like you to use code words. Could you come up with a code symbol for each letter of the alphabet and use it for each letter of your word. Then write the word beside it.
A spelling test will be done throughout the term (not necessarily weekly) to test spelling rules from more than one week. This will be done through dictation where the words will be part of a sentence.
This week we have set you a challenge in sumdog, the focus will be fraction facts, this practice will help us with our new topic. Enjoy!
