What have we been learning in P2D this week? Here is a summary below. Please revisit this learning at home.
We all now have a core and fluency book home. Please read a little each day at home.
We have been revisiting the ‘oo’ and ‘ew’ sounds. You can work on these sounds at home with a parent/carer. Some examples of words we have been spelling:
- moon, spoon, room, boom, zoom (extension adding ‘ed’ and ‘ing’ for challenge)
- new, knew, few, grew, crew
We have been working on using a capital letter and full stop in the correct place in a sentence.
We have been discussing how many tens and units are in a number. For example 39= 3 sets of 10 and 9 units. We have been using cotton bud bundles to help us. Choose 5 numbers at home between 0-100 and tell a parent/carer how many tens and units each number is made from.
We have started a topic called ‘CASTLES’. We are so excited! We have been learning the names of parts of a castle. Discuss the different parts with a parent/carer.
All children now have a ‘LEARNING STORY’ which will come home next Friday. This contains a literacy and numeracy target. The jotter will then come home every 3 weeks. You can work on the targets with your child at home too. We will evidence your child’s learning in the learning story jotter.
Thank you for your support,
