P4G Reflective Friday 23.2.18

This week in P4G we have been…

Literacy
  • We have written a descriptive paragraph of a setting and we chose to write as though we were boarding the Titanic.
  • We have also written descriptive sentences about Disneyland “the happiest place in the world”.
  • We read a paragraph called The Witch’s Tears and then we had to visualise it and then draw a picture.  We then read a bit more and had to add to our picture.
Maths
  • We have been rounding to the nearest 100.  2 445 rounded to the nearest 100 is 2 400.  565 rounded to the nearest 100 is 600.
  • We have been learning about 3D objects and we had to hunt for different objects and describe the features of each object e.g. the number of faces, corners and edges.
  • We went outside and practiced our times tables by writing them in chalk in the playground.

Writing the 6 times table.

Writing the 9 times table.

Writing the 6 times table.

Health and Wellbeing
  • In the gym hall we have had lots of equipment out.  We had the wallbars, ropes and the spring board.  We were developing our balancing skills, building our physical strength and how to move around on the equipment sensibly.
  • We have begun a new Building Resilience topic which is Respect Yourself.  When we respect ourselves we are positive about ourselves, we are brave and we think about the things we are good at if we are struggling with something.
We enjoyed this week
  • We enjoyed drama as a whole year group.  In drama we were using facial expressions and miming skills.  See if you can guess what these facial expressions are…

What is my facial expression?

What is my facial expression?

  • We enjoyed finding out our new secret mission…  We had to create a setting using descriptive words: beautiful, gigantic, colossal, silky, magical and anxious.
  • We enjoyed climbing the ropes because it’s fun, skillful and challenging.
