Here is what we have been up to in P4H this week.
Numeracy and Maths
In maths we have been doing division and beat-thats. We are getting much better at our times tables now, so beat-that are getting easier for times tables. Some of us finished our times table books and got a new one with the next times table to practise.
We have been learning about acute, right, obtuse and reflex angles. Here are some that we found;
In Literacy we have been learning about calligrams. A calligram is a fun way to write words. A calligram is a word made into a picture to show what it means.
We checked over our Harry Potter stories to check that they were the best they could possibly be before Mrs Haynes looked at them. Some people up-graded WOW words, some added in the word ‘kind’ to describe friends, others added time connectives.
Topic and other areas
We learnt where the Vikings invaded and lived. The Vikings came from Norway, Sweeden and Denmark (Scandanavia) and they invaded the UK as well as Greenland, Republic of Ireland, Iceland, Newfoundland. They tried to invade Egypt but couldn’t get past the river Nile.
We made our own timeline with a partner and put the main events on it and dates.
In ukulele we have been learning to play pop songs and play different chords. We played Wake Me Up by Avacii.
What have we enjoyed?
The Viking timeline.
What have we found challenging?
Doing the different chords on Ukulele.
Up-grading our Harry Potter writing.
What would we like to learn next week?Vikings, Calligrams.
