This week we have been revising spelling words with sh and ch sounds.
We read the story “The most magnificent thing” and worked with partners to create our own magnificent invention.
Here is a link to the story if you’d like to read it again.
We learned about addresses and discussed what we knew about our own addresses. . Many of us knew our house number, some knew our street names and two knew our postcode.
We wrote to the animals in the Polly Jean book and put their address on the envelope.
CHALLENGE – Can you learn your full address ? Maybe you could address an envelope and post a picture or a letter to a friend or family member .
We continue to enjoy “BEAR” time in class ( Be Excited About Reading) when we all choose books to read together and share with our friends.
Numeracy and Maths
Our focus this week has been on counting forwards and backwards in 10s on the decade ( 20, 30, 40) We also discussed how many groups of ten are in a decade number eg, 60 is 6 tens/ 8 tens are 80.
We practised writing numbers all the way to 100 or as far as we could manage.
Other areas of the curriculum.
In PE we have been developing being nimble as we move, for example – by jumping in hoops, running through a slalom of cones or doing light toe taps on a marker.
In assembly P3m shared their learning with us.
We discussed what we already knew about giraffes and then investigated some more. We learned that Giraffes sleep standing up and that they have the same number of bones in their necks as humans do.
As part of European languages day we discussed the variety of world languages which are spoken by pupils in our class and we looked at flags of these countries.
