We have had another busy week in P3M.
We continued working on quarter to and quarter past in maths, trying to link times to our daily routines. Some children are still finding this quite challenging. Talk to your child about the time and what happens at specific times throughout the day. The children have been working on number activities in their SEAL groups and practising the 4 times table in mental agility.
This was Book Week Scotland. We had a visit from a storyteller. The children really enjoyed listening to his stories. Some of their comments were-
‘He was really funny’.
‘He used actions to make the stories more interesting’
‘He used really good expression’
P6 were so inspired by the storyteller they came to P3 and shared their stories with us.
We had a very good discussion about favourite books and then we wrote about them. Primary 1 to 3 received book bags and we voted on our favourite book from a selection of three.
The children have been working on their new spelling words, there are games to play on Spelling City. See previous blog for further information.
We had a visit from an art student from Boroughmuir who worked on winter windows with the class. We also began to make our Christmas crafts to sell at the Christmas Fair.
We have started practising songs for our carol concert – further details to follow!
We continued to practise family words in French and tried hard to ask each other about whether or not we had brothers or sisters.
We all smiled beautifully for our photos!
Have a great weekend
