Dear Parents/ Carers,

Welcome to P1 Dragonflies!

You should be very proud of your children, they have been fantastic this week!

The children have been learning about all the class routines: getting ready for class, changing into indoor/outdoor shoes, getting the snacks from their bags and putting into their trays, hanging their coats, lunch time routines, outdoor learning rules, expectations in the class, etc. Lots of things to do in one week! They have become quicker and quicker at getting change and they are developing their skills to became more independent in selfcare routines. It would be great if your child can keep practicing at home doing zips, buttons, getting change and undress (we will start using our PE kit soon!).

We had fun listening to all children talking about their summer memory boxes. Thank you for all your work! It has been a fantastic opportunity to getting to know your child a little bit better.

We have also agreed our class charter, you will have the opportunity to see it on Meet the teacher Day (next Thursday).

As break only lasts 20 minutes please don’t give your child too many items to eat. Please remember to cut in half grapes and cherry tomatoes if your child brings them to school for lunch or snack. Not nuts/ nut products should be brought to school.

We are always looking for parent helpers so please get in touch if you would like to come and help in the school. Please note that this would be a chance for you to help at school and we cannot promise that you will be able to work with your own child.

We really hope that the first week at school has been a good experience for your child.

We are looking forward to meeting you all soon.

Have a fantastic weekend!
