This is what we have been learning this week in P3.
We have been learning to use different addition strategies and will be working on these for the next few weeks. In our groups we have been: learning our number bonds to 10 and 20, using doubles and near doubles and counting on to help us add numbers together.
In reading we are focusing on summarising the story so we have been talking about the beginning, middle and end of a story and trying to put the story in our own words.
In spelling we have been looking at words which have the tw, sw, st, sc, blend at the beginning and our tricky words are : here, there, go, no, so.
We wrote about our favourite places trying to include describing words and remembering to use full stops and capital letters.
We are continuing to work on our fitness levels using suggestions from class members and we are also learning a Norwegian folk dance to show parents at our assembly.
We talked about the French words for some colours and played a game to help us learn them.
We are very excited to share our learning with our families on September 27th. As our assembly is Roald Dahl themed we thought it would be fun for our clothes to have some connection to Roald Dahl or his stories. We don’t want anyone going to a lot of trouble so this ‘costume’ could be as simple as a golden ticket worn around the neck for Charlie from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ or a book under the arm for Matilda.
Enjoy the long weekend
