Maths and Numeracy

We have been learning about rounding whole numbers this week. We have been rounding whole numbers to 10 and we have started rounding numbers to 100. Some of us have found this quite tricky! We will be practicing this skill, next week.

We have been looking at what makes a good piece of writing. We have identified Vocabulary, Connectives, Openers and Punctuation (VCOP) as the 4 main attributes to focus on. This week we looked at a piece of writing and highlighted VCOP in the paragraph. We then continued the story, focussing on adding VCOP in to our writing. We wrote some fantastic descriptions!

We are continuing with our class novel ‘Storm’. We have been discussing how to put ourselves in the role of a character to help us understand their feelings, thoughts and actions. We have been focusing on the main character – Annie and her meeting with the horseman in our story!

Reading books have gone home this week.

Spelling Words

We have been practising everyday words.

Health and Wellbeing

On Thursday we were continuing to develop our ‘movers and thinkers’ skills. We have been working with a partner to develop matching footwork sequences, using our coordination, listening and teamwork skills.

This week we have been learning to ‘Look on the Bright Side’! Some of our classmates have shared their super memory boxes with us. We have also been learning to appreciate all the things that we are grateful for.

We have been developing our knowledge of Scotland and developing our cooperative learning skills. We have been working cooperatively to create posters about the cities in Scotland.

Have a lovely weekend!
