It has been a busy week of learning in P4J!
Maths and Numeracy
We have been learning about the diamond strategy for addition using 2 and 3 digit numbers. We have been recalling addition facts quickly and accurately, and discussing strategies for doing so.
We have been identifying and making lines of symmetry in 2D shapes. Thank you for sharing our learning with us on Friday morning.
This week, we have continued to look at our descriptive writing of our playground in Autumn. We completed our first draft and have highlighted ways to improve our writing in our final draft of our writing.
Through our science topic, we have been developing our note taking skills whilst researching extreme weather events.
With Miss Houliston, we have been learning about the correct use of there, their and they’re.
We have been practicing the short vowel sound ‘o’ immediately before l is made by using ‘a’. We have been adding ed and ing suffixes to these root words.

We have also been learning to spell words linked to our science topic.

We have been developing our knowledge of weather in our cooperative learning teams. Using laptops we were researching about extreme weather events and we will continue this learning next week.
We have been learning about The Good Samaritan story from the Bible.
We attended our first Learning Teams meeting this week and we are looking forward to making changes to our school and community!
