Hello everyone! I hope you all managed to enjoy a little bit of sunshine yesterday.
It’s lovely to see lots of signs of Spring around us.

Tuesday Challenge – We are learning to develop our subtraction skills.
Task – challenge yourself with our ‘Tuesday Ten’ on Topmarks Daily 10 online- choose subtraction on the menu. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10
SUPER– LEVEL 1 FANTASTIC – LEVEL 2 SPECTACULAR– LEVEL 3
Have a warm-up first then either increase the level or decrease the time to make your learning even more challenging.
Daily Maths: We are learning to make calculations using our knowledge of the 6 times table.
Write out the 6 times table and say it out loud then say it backwards.
Work on your ‘hot-spots’- if you get stuck- go to a fact you do know then either add on in jumps of six or take away in jumps of 6.
Write down the division fact family for each. Hide your tables.
Task – complete the ‘sixes’ sheet which you can also find in your learning pack.
Extra Challenge- write down fact families for the multiplication calculations on the sheet.
For example- 5 x 6 = 30 50 x 6 =300 500 x 6 = 3000
Spelling – We are learning to spell unfamiliar words using our spelling rule.
Daily Spelling Activity Task: choose an activity from the grid in your learning pack.
Spelling rule for the week: adding ‘s’ to make words plural. Please see yesterday’s list.
Include 30 minutes of reading for pleasure in your day- this can be fiction, non-fiction, a comic or a recipe book.
Writing Task– We are learning to write a diary entry using the same success criteria we used when we wrote’Annie’s diary entry.
Your task is to write a diary entry that a First Class passenger might have written, looking back on their first day on board Titanic.
You might want to include details of the excitement of coming aboard, describing the luxurious cabin (or suite) and then exploring some of the facilities. You could also include details about having dinner in the restaurant for the first time.
Use the adjectives ( describing words) that you wrote down last week to help you describe Titanic.
Success criteria for a diary entry. Begin with the date and time.
Use linking words- first, next, soon after, later.
Write in past tense- looking back on the day – we were, ‘ed’ words such as explored, walked.
Write in first person- use I. my. we. our
Write about the events in the order they happened.
We are continuing to develop our listening and visualising skills by listening to Elevenses at 11am with The World of David Walliams – find the link at Buckstone Buzz.
Enjoy a work-out today – it could be dancing, skipping or developing your fitness with Joe Wicks.
Have good day, everyone!
