P4W Wise Woodies Learning at Home Together

Hello everyone!   Welcome to some Friday Fun!

Friday 3 April 2020    3.4.20

Friday Challenge

How many words can you make from

For example- rest, pet

Award yourself 5 points for each word.  Identify your longest word and your most interesting word.

Daily Maths- we are learning to create symmetrical patterns.

Carefully draw 3 egg shapes. Using a ruler, draw a line right down the middle of each.

Now decorate your eggs using lines, patterns and pictures so that each egg has one line of symmetry and the designs on each half of your eggs are symmetrical.

Extra Challenge

Use pens or crayons to colour your designs, keeping the colours symmetrical, too!

Art and Design– create an egg cup design for a well- known person. Think carefully about the features of your design and remember to leave the perfect space to place a boiled egg.

It could be for a sports person, a singer or an author.

For example- if I was designing an egg-cup for Andy Murray, I might make the handles look like tennis racquets. The base could be an Olympic gold medal and I would colour the part that holds the egg green, with a net going across it!

Make this a quiz for your family. Put clues to the person in your design- can the guess who the egg- cup might be for, Can other members of your family design one for you to guess?

Drama fun from Mrs Hand- Tongue Twisters

Start by scrunching up your face and make it as small as possible for a couple of seconds. Then stretch your expressions to make them as wide as they can go. Wiggle your nose, then pretend to chew on an imaginary piece of bubblegum, blow a huge bubble and then pop it. Now try the following tongue twisters…

*        I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream

*        Red lorry, yellow lorry, red lorry, yellow lorry

*        A proper copper coffee pot

*        She sells seashells on the seashore

A big thank you for sharing your learning!

Friday joke is on a Spring theme-

What did the big flower say to the little flower?

Hi, bud!
