Learning Together at Home: 24.04.2020

Friday Funday! Congratulations everyone, we’ve made it through the first week of the new term 😊 Here’s something to hopefully put a smile on your face.

Literacy: spelling

On Friday’s we do a spelling dictation (the children love it!) to see how we’ve got on with learning our words. I usually offer a choice of levels. Mild and hot are suitable for those working on the word list. Spicy is for those working on the challenge word list. All three levels should include the tricky words. Ask someone to read out the dictation for you while you write it in your jotter. Remember to write any corrections three times.

very, every, read, wealth, earth, bread, deaf

Yesterday I read a book. My dad is very deaf. Every day I give the ducks some bread. Some people are very wealthy.

I eat a very healthy breakfast every day then I check the weather report. It was as light as a feather.

Maths: data handling games

This week we have been exploring displaying information in different ways. If you haven’t already, have a go at making either a pictograph or a bar graph. You could make up some questions for someone else at home to answer.

Sumdog – the challenges end today at 5pm! Or play some general maths games.

For at least 2 players (you will need both documents):

French will be in a separate blog post.

Enjoy the weekend everyone and I will see you on Monday 😊
