Learning Together at Home 24.4.20

Hello P6F!

A reminder that although tasks go online at noon each day it is up to you to decide when you do these. Spread out the tasks and do not feel you have to complete everything in one day. Take the tasks and organise your own time.
Joe Wicks has a great workout everyday at 9am which is saved on his YouTube page to do whenever you like  . . .

Literacy

Spelling – Secret code

Create your own secret code in order to spell your spelling words.

Can you create a code that uses only 2D shapes? You can combine more than one 2D shape to create a symbol. For example …. Who Knew Two Triangles Could Do So Much?: The Hexagram

Once you have the code – write out all your spelling words using the code you have created.

Remember the rhyme – ‘ i ‘ before ‘ e ‘ except after ‘ c ‘. Does this rule work for all your spelling words?

Reading

Read the short passage in the document below and look for each word type one at a time. Make a list in your Literacy jotter of each word type.

Number – Factors and Multiples

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUrLuTMq-sw

Watch the YouTube video above for a reminder on what a Factor and what a Multiple is.

Now have a go at listing all the Multiples of the numbers 7 and 8.

Chose any two numbers from the 7 and 8 times table and write all the Factors for those two numbers.

NOW create an information poster describing what a Factor is AND what a Multiple is. If possible take a photo of your information poster and e-mail me it. I would LOVE to see these.

I will save all the resources in Teams so if any file does not open have a look for it on Microsoft Teams.

As always any questions . . . just ask!
