Learning Together at Home 5.5.20

A reminder that although tasks go online at noon each day it is up to you to decide when you do these. Spread out the tasks and do not feel you have to complete everything in one day. Take the tasks and organise your own time.
Joe Wicks has a great workout everyday at 9am which is saved on his YouTube page to do whenever you like  . . .

Riddle –  Answer – Your name.

How many of you can write a riddle on Microsoft Teams chat? Even if you are not planning on writing a riddle – have a look and see if you can answer someone else’s.

I will be looking out for them.

Spelling – mixture of words from previous 4 weeks

Choose a list from the document below. Copy out your words in to your Literacy jotter using LOOK, SAY, WRITE, CHECK and then write a sentence for each word. I would like you to include a connective and vary your sentence openers for each sentence. Use the VCOP pyramid guide attached below.

Writing – this task is to be completed over two days

Use the web links, document, and your own personal research on Inventions from the 20th century to decide on a TOP 3 most important inventions from this time period. Write these down in a list in your Literacy jotter, summarise each one and give a reason for why it is in your top 3.

Now create a timeline of important inventions from the 20th century. Make sure it is in chronological order. Take a photo of these and e-mail them to me via Buck Admin e-mail address please.

Number – 11 and 12 times table

Write out the 11 and 12 times table and practise on your own – then get someone to test you. Which ones are you finding the trickiest? Spend more time practising the sums you are stumbling on.

Calculations – word problems

Choose a level of word problems (green, amber, red) and complete the page in your Numeracy jotter. Show ALL working out necessary in your jotters. This is very important!

green word problems

amber word problems

red word problems

I will save all the resources in Teams so if any file does not open have a look for it on Microsoft Teams.

As always any questions . . . just ask!
