# Thursday 21st May 2020 – Learning at Home Together

Teams update: There are now 3 channels set up on Teams.

General – A space for teachers to post messages and for pupils to ask questions.

Chit Chat – A space for pupils to post sensible messages to their classmates.

Sharing our Learning – A space to share work / photos with their classmates. No feedback will be given to the work shared here.

Assignment tasks should still be submitted using the assignment box. Remember that your Titanic newspaper report is due on Friday through the assignment box 🙂

Below are the tasks for Thursday.

Remember to complete the tasks set on Sumdog.

L.I We are learning to find a quarter of a number.

Daily Morning Challenge: Find a quarter of a number. You can find a quarter by halving a number and then halving the answer. For example, a quarter of 84 is 21 (because half of 84 is 42, then half of 42 is 21).

L.I We are learning to spell unfamiliar words using our spelling rule.

We are learning to identify and spell words with closed and open syllables.
Remember to listen for short or long vowels at the end of the first syllable.
Remember that each syllable must contain one vowel sound.

Daily Spelling Activity Task: choose a different spelling activity from the pack that you have at home and remember to Look, Cover, Write, Check.

L.I – We are learning to identify and write half and quarter fractions on a number line.

Open the two worksheets below and write the fractions along the number line. In the first worksheet, there are pictures to help you – have a look at the apples on the plate and the count the number and fraction of apples to help you.
