Friday Funday! Here is something to hopefully make you smile:
I really enjoyed catching up with some of you during our virtual show and tell meeting on Teams! It was lovely to hear about what you have been getting up to 😊
There will be no Really Weird Removals.com today but it will be back on Monday!
Spend at least 15 minutes reading some of a book (any book) out loud to an adult. Remember to read for pleasure as well, just like we do during BEAR time in school!
Here is your spelling dictation for the week. Have someone read out your chosen level while you write the words or sentences in your jotter. Add in your extra two words that you have been working on as well. Remember to do any corrections three times!
played, spilled, smiled, burned, yelled
Yesterday I played with my friends. My mum smiled at me when I spilled some milk. Then she yelled at me when I burned the toast!
The clock displayed the time. I was dismayed after I debated the rules with my sister. My grandpa’s hearing is impaired. I boasted about winning the race.
Maths games: fractions and measurement
If you found halving tricky, you could complete this doubling and halving booklet for some extra practise:
If you are looking for more of a challenge with fractions you could play memory, go fish or snap with these fractions matching cards (they use harder fractions):
Halves on Hit The Button
Halves and quarters on Snappy Maths
Build a Fraction
Measuring in cm on Topmarks
Outdoors: 10 ways to measure a tree
French will be coming in a separate blog post.
Have a lovely weekend in the sun everyone! Here is an idea for an activity to do in your garden which may be good now we’re allowed to see some more people…
