P4J RME – Thursday 18 June

Good afternoon, P4J. I hope you all had a great time in Disney World yesterday!

We have been learning a bit about mosques, a place where Muslims go to worship. We have looked at the features of mosques as well as some of the traditions and rituals followed inside them.

This week, I’d like you to compare what you now know about mosques and the Muslim religion, with the places of worship and rituals followed in other religions. What similarities are there and what differences do you notice?

To help you with this, watch the clips below. You don’t need to watch all of these today; I would suggest you spread this activity over a few days:

Christianity

Judaism

Sikhism

Draw a table to help you make comparisons. You might want to add some illustrations to add interest to your work. Use what you have learnt about Islam and mosques as the basis for your comparisons.

Here are the clips about a mosque again, if you need a reminder:

Here is an example of the type of information you might put in your table:

Write down what you notice after comparing the places of worship.

ICT (Optional)

You may draw your table, or, if you are looking for an ICT challenge, create a table using Word, like I have done. You will need to go to ‘insert’ and select ‘table’. Have a ‘tinker’ with this function and see what you can come up with.

If you have never done this before, this video may be helpful:

I hope you all have a lovely day!
