P2C to P3BM Transition Activities – Tuesday 23 June

Good morning, P2C. We hope you are all well and having a lovely day.

We can’t wait to meet you face-to-face in August and are looking forward to getting to know you.

We’d like you to complete the following activities before your first day back at school:

What’s in the Box?

Surprise,box,question question,surprise box,free pictures - free ...

During our meeting on Teams, we each showed you five things we had put in a box that said something about us.

What items would you put into a box to give someone a bit of a clue about your likes, dislikes or other information about you?

Draw your five items inside a box and carefully cut around your whole picture (or ask an adult to do this for you). Bring your picture to school on your first day. We will talk about your items and put your picture on the wall. Remember to put your name on it and make it nice and colourful.

If you have a printer at home, you may choose to print the template below or simply draw the box yourself.

Give a Hand for our Charter!

Early on in the term, we will create a class charter. This will be based around ‘Ready, Respectful, Safe’ which you will be familiar with from P2.

We would like you to draw around your hand and then decorate the paper hand in some way. Cut out the hand (or ask an adult to do this, as it is quite tricky) and bring it to school on your first day. Please make sure your name is on the decorated side as we will use all of the hands to form our charter.

It would be great if you could also think about what ‘Ready, Respectful, Safe’ means to you so that we can share ideas in August.

Getting to Know You

Once we are back at school, it might take us a day or two to get to know the names of everyone in the class. We’re looking for your help with this!

Create a name card that can stand up on your desk. It can be decorated in any way and be as colourful as you like, but the most important thing is to make sure that your name is clear and is written in nice, big letters.

All About You

We’d like to learn a little bit about you when we first meet. To help us do this, we’d like you to complete an ‘All About Me’ poster (A4 size).

You should include the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your age
  • Something you like
  • Something you don’t like
  • Who the members of your family are
  • What you like best about school
  • A word that describes you

Once we have read these, we will put them on our classroom wall.

You will find a template below. You might choose to print this (if you have a printer at home) or just design and draw the poster yourself.

We hope you have a lovely summer and we look forward to seeing you all in August.
