Hello everyone!
It has been a busy week of learning in P4W.
We have been developing skills across the curriculum.
Literacy
Developing our reading skills.
Discussing a text with a partner and in a group.
Using adjectives to describe a character.
Finding evidence in a text.
Using alphabetical to sort and find words.
Developing our cursive handwriting skills.
We are developing our writing skills.
Spelling – Week 1
Root words containing long vowel sounds- add ‘ing’.
Root words containing a short vowel and two consonant- add ‘ing’.
FANTASTIC- wanting toasting flying sounding thinking throwing walking stealing
SPECTACULAR– searching explaining expecting shocking learning catching happening soaking knowing
Maths
Developing our knowledge of place value, revisiting and revising our skills with 3 – digit numbers.
Skills include reading and writing numbers both in digits and words.
Partitioning and explaining the value of each digit in a number.
Identifying numbers between two given numbers.
Recalling number facts quickly and accurately.
Recalling doubles quickly and accurately.
Developing our knowledge of the 2 and 10 times tables.
Using strategies to make calculations.
Health and Wellbeing
Developing and creating our Class Charter.
Developing our class identity- Wonderful Woodland
Sharing the activities we enjoy.
Experiencing the woodland within our playground.
Developing our fitness, listening and quick thinking.
Social Skills
We are learning how to listen carefully- what this looks like and sounds like.
Identifying the qualities of a great Learning Partner.

Organising information on a mind-map.
Developing our drawing skills.
Developing our design skills.
We intend to use our outdoor time for P.E. on Tuesday and Thursday.
Trainers can therefore be worn to school on those days.
