Another busy week of learning in the Golden Treasures class!
***IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We will usually be doing outdoor PE on a Tuesday and Thursday. On these days please send your child suitably dressed in sports clothes and trainers that can be worn outside. Children do not need to wear school uniform on these days.***
Revising our sounds and tricky spelling words. P3s have started looking at their new spelling lists, initial consonant blends. (New words/sounds will be shared for both P2 and P3 on Monday on this blog so that children can practise them at home during the week. I will share some ideas of how to do this below).
Reading the book Silly Billy to help us think about a character’s thoughts and feelings and making our own worry dolls based on this story.
Listening to The Twits, our class novel, which we are all really enjoying.
Practising our handwriting skills.
Writing about our families.
Maths and Number
Revising number formation and practising getting all of our digits the right way round.
Sequencing numbers within the range of 0-20, 0-50 and 0-100.
Talking about the number before and the number after a given number.
Practising number bonds to 10 during our outdoor time.
Looking at ways we can organise information.
Health and Wellbeing
Discussing our worries through the story Silly Billy and thinking of ways to lessen our worries.
Wellbeing and fitness through Cosmic Kids Yoga.
Developing our cooperative skills by working together across lots of areas of our learning.
Learning through play in our classroom.
We are learning how to listen carefully- what this looks and sounds like.
We enjoyed our virtual assembly including a quiz.
Here’s what the children say about our week:
“I enjoyed using pastels.” Grace
“We’ve been reading in BEAR time.” Callum
“I like drawing with the pastels.” Isla
“I’ve enjoyed making pictures with the pinboards,” Samuel
“I’ve really enjoyed playing with the Playmobil because I get to use the big plane!” Angus
Have a lovely weekend!
