  In literacy we have covered:

  • Writing – ‘Bonfire Night Safety’
  • Writing Star Steps; use capital letters, finder spaces and full stops, using a connective word, neat handwriting and writing 2 or more sentences
  • Sounding out/blending/spelling CVC words
  •  oy and oi diagraph
  •  Example oi words – join, boil, coin, foil
  •   Example oy words – boy, toy, annoy, enjoy 
  • Reading sentences and drawing pictures to match
  •  Tricky Words (Block 1 – 8 PowerPoints are attached to this post, if you would like to practise at home)
  •  Letter Formation/Hand Writing- cursive and non-cursive
  • Word searches and Boggle (word building)
  •  Reading Groups – in class
  •   Reading sent home


We have started a class novel – George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahls

Our P.E days are a Monday and Wednesday. 

This week for P.E we focused on:

  • Dance, fitness and co-ordination
  • Discussion around skills we are developing

Outdoor Learning 

We collected leaves, looked at and compared their colour, size, shape and features. We then created lovely and detailed lined drawings of them.


This week the children also independently designed Christmas cards. They were encouraged to express and create pictures of what they thought was a Christmas scene.
