P3MB Friday 4.12.20
Hello everyone
This is what we have been learning this week:
We began to look at symmetry. We identified symmetrical objects and talked about lines of symmetry. As part of our outdoor learning we created symmetrical pictures using natural materials.
Please see separate blog post for photographs.
We continued to work on digital time.
THINGS TO DO AT HOME
Create a symmetrical picture. If you have paint at home you could use this or use materials you find outdoors.
A number of children continue to find digital times challenging, please continue to practise these, especially quarter to and quarter past.
LITERACY
We talked about our learning stories and discussed what we might write in them. We each wrote a comment for literacy and numeracy.

HWB
We discussed bullying again and identified examples of bullying behaviour. We spoke about what we could do to prevent bullying and wrote about the part we could play in this .
ART
We created a piece of art for the whole school window display.
Following on from last week’s sketches of trees we painted a winter sky using our new oil pastels and cut out winter trees from black paper.
The children put a great deal of effort in to this piece of work , they really thought about the colours they should use and enjoyed using the paintbrush to blend them. The results are fabulous.
MUSIC
We talked about what we would like to find out about Tchaikovsky and listened to the Dance of the Mirlitons from The Nutcracker.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
We identified different kinds of disabilities including invisible ones and watched a short film about a 10 year old boy with vision impairment.
The children gave this film their full attention and it prompted some mature and thoughtful discussion.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
