I can’t believe that we are almost at the end of the term. It has been an incredibly busy term especially with ever changing guidelines Thank you for all your support throughout nut particularly at the beginning of the term. Your children have been amazing and adapted to every change every step of the way, without a fuss!
As ever this week’s Blog was complied together with P4H
This week has been a mixture of cutting, gluing, sticking ,tearing , sorting, listening as well as developing problem solving skills and team work as we worked to our way through a number of Christmas activities . We continued learning about Christmas traditions in our Advent Calendar.
In Numeracy we practised quarter to and past in both digital and analogue . Some more of us cracked it! We revised symmetry Christmas style.
In Literacy we used Christmas words in sentences orally and as part of VCOP challenges. We played Roll a Story and made up fantastic, imaginative stories in pairs which we shared to the class.
We also held our own Storytelling Week where a number of children premiered their impressive array of stories which they have been writing in their free class time and at home.As we ran out of time it will continue next week! It was not something I set. Some very talented authors in the making.
Other events this week were the Woodland Detective walk and the Christmas Party
We enjoyed squelching in the mud , looking for animal signs and footprints. We were armed with a magnified bug pot , home made box to collect any exciting “finds ” and animal footprint sheet. We found lots of mini beasts , spotted squirrels , millipede and found evidence of animal habitats . We also found a drey and spotted a squirrel running from it!
Here we are in action ……
And here we are at our party ……it was super fun and amazing and exciting being in the Hall!
Mrs Tulloch’s Lunchtime chats. Mrs Tulloch continued to share fun facts and some of us found out some too. We have all enjoyed learning something new!
Home Learning Have fun!
And remember to go to bed on time…..only 4 sleeps to go until the end of term , 7 sleeps to another important event ! 😉
