Here is a summary of our learning this week:
A huge thank you to the children and parents in P6J for my very generous Christmas gift 🙂
We continued our Literacy Evolve novel called ‘Oranges in No Man’s Land’. We were learning to use and reflect on drama techniques to explore characters and the story.
We planned and wrote a Christmas story about Excitable Edgar, inspired by the John Lewis 2019 Christmas Advert.
We have been reading our class novel ‘There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom’ and discussing this in class.
We used our listening and talking skills to take part in Christmas Quizzes.
Maths and Numeracy:
In numeracy we have been learning to convert fractions and decimals into percentages. Have a look at this video for a quick explanation: Convert fractions into percentages – Homeschool lessons in Primary Maths Year 6 – BBC Bitesize
We talked about a percentage % as meaning ‘out of 100’.
We completed a Christmas pudding maths mystery using lots of our key maths skills and found the culprit!
We practised our multiplication and division skills to complete some Christmas themed art on Microsoft Excel.
We really enjoyed our Christmas Party! Thank you to the Parent Council for the prizes! 🙂
In P.E, we played lots of games this week in the playground.
We made a Christmas wreath using a fringing technique. We used our partner skills in this task.
Next week, we will be watching our Christmas film.
Have a lovely weekend!
