What we have been learning – 29.1.21

Good afternoon Mega Meerkats. Well done for another week of home learning, you are all doing fantastic! I know it can be hard but we are all getting through it together as a class.

In literacy this week we have been developing our reading comprehension skills such as: understanding, analysing and remembering. We have also been using all of our descriptive writing skills to begin writing an imaginative story, I can’t wait to read all of your finished stories in a few weeks!

In maths and numeracy we have moved on to focus on division and money. We have been practising our division facts and began looking at bus stop division. We will continue this next week. For money, we spent some time reminding ourselves of the value of different coins and notes as well as adding and subtracting money. Again, we will continue money next week.

As it was Bruns Night on Monday, we have focused a lot on Scotland this week. We created our own tartan, we have been learning various Scottish poems and we have been learning about Scottish musical instruments.

I really enjoyed seeing so many of you at our class meetings this week and seeing all of your fantastic work. I hope you all have a relaxing weekend and I will ‘see’ you on Monday.

Miss Mangan
