Learning together at Home P1 Tigers Tuesday 8th June

Good morning Tigers!

We hope you all had a great day yesterday. It was lovely to see you all at our meeting but we miss seeing you at school.

We will see you at 9.30 again.

We will be answering all your e-learning journal posts at 10.00 and at 4.00. We would like to politely ask you to post only one post a day so quality feedback can be given to all children. Any other queries not related to the home learning should be emailed to the school administration account. Thank you!

Here is a video of our butterflies!

Here is today’s learning

We are learning the sound lk and our tricky words are would, should and could.

Our tricky words are very similar, they all finish the same way O U L D ( you should focus on the initial sounds: w, sh, c.

Spell -ould words with Oh You Lucky Duck by Tips of Wisdom | TpT | How to spell words, Spelling, Spelling help

Why don’t you try to write them with: your finger in flour, finger in sand, a paintbrush with water outside, on a tile with soap while having your bath.

For our sound lk please watch this video ( you could pause it wile writing the words)

and choose one of these activities:

I can share out a group of items by making smaller groups and can split a whole object into smaller parts. MNU 0-07a

I am learning to

  • Split a whole into smaller parts and explains that equal parts are the same size.
  • Use appropriate vocabulary to describe halves.
  • Share out a group of items equally into smaller groups

When something is cut, or shared into half then both halves must be equal.

If they are not equal, then the parts are not halves.

First – watch this short video about finding half

Next -in this powerpoint (below), you will look at different ways we use halves in real life.

Look at the different pictures and discuss with an adult what you can see in each slide. Some of the pictures are deliberately NOT halves. Can you spot them?

Finally, ask an adult to help you draw a circle and cut it in half. Can you decorate it like a pizza ? Choose your favourite toppings and draw the same amount of each on each half of your pizza.

Alternatively, you can download and print this worksheet activity.

If you can, take time to get some exercise in the fresh air.

You could also join in with this yoga adventure.
