Well…what a fantastic year we have had in Primary 4WL! Thank you to all of our wonderful pupils, amazing families and great teamwork for sharing a super year full of highs and with some challenges too. We would love to take this opportunity to thank you so much for your kindness, support and generosity towards Mrs Williamson and I throughout the year and as a special send off at the end of this term – it is really appreciated and means a lot to us! It has been a real pleasure to work with the children in our class this year and we have had a super last week!
Some highlights of the year include….
Pyjama dress down day
Red Nose day
Children in Need
Race for Life virtually and medals presented
Living Things Assembly
Titanic – making cabins and having loads of fun researching, making our own quizzes, posters and challenges
Outdoor Learning fun
Having Mr. Parry join us for a while
Scotland Week – art, creativity and fun
Teams quizzes and Fun Friday Teams calls
Learning Together at Home (some parts of it!)
PE – Athletics Sports Day at the Waterboard Field
Health Week – getting outside for fitness tasks
Maths – making board games of our own, Beat That progress, STEM tasks to think like a Mathematician, Maths mystery tasks
Literacy – Shape poems, Titanic stories, Imaginative writing, Spelling scribbles and word-searches, Class novels (Kasper, Ottoline, Spud Murphy…)
We had fun decorating the class as a surprise for Mrs Williamson’s last few days teaching and we wish her a wonderful retirement – we will miss her so much but know that she will keep in touch and wish her lots of sunny and fun adventures!
We have enjoyed learning together across the curriculum this week. Thank you for returning your Learning Stories and reading books from home – if there are any remaining that you find over the Summer please bring them in at the start of P5! We have worked hard together to have some fun thinking ahead to our Summer holidays – creating bucket lists, chatting about our plans and creating fun pop art pictures. We have also enjoyed the opportunity to Meet The Teacher for our P5 classes outside and write some passports sharing key information about ourselves for our next teachers. We will work hard together to make sure everyone transitions well into P5, recognising it is new and a big change, and look forward to lots of new opportunities and friendships across the year stages. We are so impressed with how resilient and hard-working all of the children have been across P4 and also how positive everyone has been about a new year coming. Thank you!
Well done to Jenni who won a special whole-school creative writing competition earlier this year and received her special gift and certificate, she wanted her picture of this amazing achievement shared below!
Enjoy seeing a flavour of our final week and we wish you all a happy, healthy and wonderful long Summer break.
Best wishes and well done everyone,
Mrs Williamson and Mrs Ling and the wonderful children in P4WL 🙂
