Hello P2L learners and Grown-Ups and welcome back!!
It has been so lovely to be back in school this week with all of the children settling into their new classes. It has been a busy week getting used to our new classes and routines.
Our morning routine – hang coats up on our pegs, change shoes, put packed lunches on the trolley, put snack in personal tray, water bottles go in purple trays, purple folders and bags in class boxes then begin the morning starter. We are already getting quicker at this every day! A little reminder from yourselves over the weekend that, the quicker they can do this the quicker we can start our learning time would be wonderful.
The ‘Morning starter’ will be different learning activities each day (literacy, numeracy, music, PE etc.). This will be repeated at the end of the day as an ‘Afternoon Ender’ to allow learning to be continuing for your child at their individual pace while other children arrive/leave.
This week we have discussed and come up with ideas for our Class Charter which we base around being Ready, Respectful and Safe- P2L have had lots of conversations about this and have come up with some ideas which we are going to add to our display next week.
We have also been deciding, in our classes, on a class name. This years theme is Book Characters and we have decided, as a class, to be Ladybirds. This is from the story What the Ladybird Heard.
We enjoyed some reflective time during our outdoor learning time and shared what we have enjoyed most about our first few days as P2L. Lots of the children have enjoyed making new friends and being in new classrooms.
Looking towards next week:
PE next week for P2L will be on Tuesday and Thursday morning- please come to school dressed for PE on these days. The days are subject to change, depending on outdoor availability and whole school timetables. Any changes to the PE days will be posted here on the Friday blog.
Each week we will share with you some of our learning from the week (this may or may not include photos). We will also share some of our thoughts and opinions from the learners during our ‘Reflective Friday’.
Next week we will be spending more time getting to know the class and continuing with carrying out some assessment work, therefore no reading will be sent home.
I have thoroughly meeting, and getting to know the children and some of the parents and look forward to continuing this next week. Please get in touch with any questions or worries- I am more tan happy to help! You can email me via office admin, send a note in with your child or catch me at the door.
I hope you have a fun, safe and enjoyable weekend and I look forward to seeing P2L on Monday 🙂
