Welcome to the last blog post of 2021 ! We are so incredibly proud of our pupils and we have loved watching them develop their confidence and independence over the last few months and we thank you for your support as we try our best in these challenging times. Today the children will bring home their indoor shoes and change of clothes to allow for checking the fit/topping up supplies as required. We will collect in the purple folders and store them in school over the holidays.
We hope all of you have a healthy and peaceful festive season.
And an extra huge thank you for all the very generous gifts . We look forward to opening them and thinking if you all. You are so kind and it is much appreciated ☺️
We hope you enjoy seeing our photos each week, giving you a little insight into our busy classroom..
This week our focus sounds were y and z
Please support your child at home to learn to recognise, read and spell all of our tricky words by sight.
We are developing our motor skills to help us with handwriting. Our focus this week was numbers and the lowercase letter h.
Numeracy and maths
In maths this week we continued our introduction to information handling, exploring tally marks and pictograms. We also practised counting in 5s as this is a very useful skill to have when interpreting tally marks.
Other areas of the curriculum
- We have enjoyed lots of special activities such as watching the nursery Christmas video, the whole school singalong and the christmas quiz.
