Please follow the activity as directed in your child’s reading jotter. If your child has been given a word wall please continue to practise these words.
We have been learning about sounds that commonly appear at the beginning of words. We have been focussing on sc, sk, sm, sn, sp, st, and sw.
Practise reading and writing words with these beginnings with someone at home. Don’t forget to keep practising the vowel digraphs we focussed on last term too.
Our new tricky words are ‘where’, ‘what’, ‘who’, ‘why, ‘find’ and ‘kind’. Keep practising recognising and writing all the tricky words we have been learning in class.
Numeracy and Maths
We have been learning about sorting information using different criteria and have been creating our own pictograms and block graphs.
Ask someone at home to help you sort your toys using different criteria. (E.g. soft / not soft or rolls / doesn’t roll.)
Listening and Talking
Prepare a short talk on something that you are interested in. This could be, for example, a hobby, a place, a game or a period in history. It doesn’t matter what you talk about, as long as it is something you are interested in.
In your talk, which should last for at least 30 seconds, you should include:
- The name of the topic / area of interest you are going to talk about.
- Some facts or information about your chosen subject.
- Why you like or are interested in your topic.
We will begin listening to talks from Monday 18 June.
