This week we reflected as a whole class! Here are some highlights from our week.

Enjoy the sunshine and have a lovely weekend!

  • we have learned some amazing facts about Earth Day. For example we produce 300 million tons of plastic per year!!
  • we started our Ukulele lessons this week and we were recapping the different parts of the instrument AND the different chords we need to know.
  • we created our own skeletons and also learned the names of bones. We did not know the name of some of these before. We labelled our skeletons.
  • P5F have enjoyed the sunshine this week and have been practising our ball skills. We were working as part of a team – great!
  • Spelling – we learned a new rule this week (hard K sound) and created our own fantastic games in order to practise these.

This week Abbi reflected on two of the things we did in P5F this week. Great work, Abbi!

REFLECTIVE FRIDAY

Reading

We learnt how to take notes and how to read a piece of information.

The piece of information was about the famous scientist Stephen Hawking.

Once we had made as much notes that we possibly could and read, as much information as we could it was then time to make an information poster.

Buckstone’s 40th birthday

All the pupils and teachers are very thankful for all you parents coming to the 40th birthday show we all hope you enjoyed.

Each class all performed a song from the 70s we all performed a song from the 70s because it was the year the school was built.

Thank you Abbi!

Sports Relief 2018

MESSAGE FROM P5 PUPILS

Dear Parents/Guardians

We are excited to tell you that Primary 5 are raising money for Sport Relief this year!

On Friday 16th March your children can dress up as their favourite sports person. Please bring in £1 (or contribute via Parent Pay). It would be great if the children could share one or two facts about their favourite sports person!

As well as dressing up we will be doing Run a Mile on Wednesday, Thursday  and Friday. Every class will be taking part in the run, so remember your trainers. Remember to do your best – run as far as you can.

Don’t feel the need to go out and buy new clothes. Be creative with what you have! Strips are allowed but we are reminding everyone to be respectful of all favourite sports stars.

Have fun!

From P5
