P5 fundraising for Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (Sick Kids)

Hello,

In P5 we are going to be doing a toy sale to raise money for the Sick Kids Foundation. It is going to be on Thursday 4th April in school near the P5 classrooms.

If you have any toys that you would like to donate can you please bring them in next week and by Monday 1st of April at the latest.

Please don’t bring in toys that you want to keep, you can bring in toys that you don’t play with any more or that have been sitting in your cupboard. It might be a good time to have a spring clean!

Please put any toys you bring in on the table in the P5 library.

Some examples of toys we would like are

Books

Action figures or Barbies

Soft toys

Cars

Baby toys so you can buy them for younger brother and sisters

Board games

Loom bands

Lego

Cards

Can you please make sure the toys are clean and good quality.

Thanks

P5H and P5HW

We were learning about probability this week.

  • There is an even chance that I will get heads if I toss a coin / or 50% chance

We also practised some more of our long multiplication using tricky word problems.

We were learning more about German food and drink this week. Ich trinke gern orangensaft!

Our Anderson Shelter is starting to come together and we can’t wait to finish it!

Enjoy your weekend!

Reflecting on our week in P7R…

SSPCA Charity Day!

Primary One have organised a charity day THIS FRIDAY to support the SSPCA.

Come to school dressed up as an animal on Friday 22nd February. Any donations are kindly received via Parent Pay.

Primary One hope to raise money to help lots of animals.

I wonder how many different animals we will spot in our school?!

Thank you for your support,

The P1 Team 🙂

Reflecting on our learning this week…

This week in P7R we have been looking at Anne Frank’s diary and using it as inspiration to create our own fictional diary extracts from WW2.

We have had some engaging conversations in our literature circle groups and have been developing our questioning skills.

Numeracy

Money money money! We have been talking about wages, salary, commission and overtime/time and a half and how people can be paid in the world of work.

We used shading to create some effective portraits of the main leaders during WW2.

We hope everyone has a good weekend!

A busy week in P7R…

Literacy

We have started our new class novel ‘When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit’ and have used our questioning skills to predict what might happen.

Last week we learning how to write an investigative scientific report and this week we used our new knowledge to write a report for a different experiment.  We liked predicting our own hypothesis.

Things to do at home…

  • Can you think of an experiment and write it up using: Aim, Method, Results and Conclusion? Don’t forget your Hypothesis!

Numeracy

This week has been all about money, budgeting and comparing costs. We’ve looked at food and travel.

We looked at exchange rates for currency around the world and converted to and from pounds.
