Thank you again,

Miss Davidson 🙂

P1/2 Secret Student Treat

My class have worked very hard this term and have collected lots of secret student points. We have talked about a reward and the children are keen to bring in their own toy as a treat.

Can your child bring in their own toy next Wednesday 28th June? Please do not bring in anything electronic or a toy which is too big to carry!!!

Looking forward to having a great last week of term 🙂

P1 Home Learning Wednesday 14 June

Phonics

Keep practisingtricky words,  recognising sounds, reading and building words using the cards sent home.

Reading

Please refer to your reading record to see the activity you should complete at home each evening.  Remember to keep practising the words on your Word Wall if you have been given one.

Talking and Listening

We have started listening to talks about our favourite books.

Remember; the points that you need to include as a minimum are:

  • The title of the book
  • The name of the author
  • Some information about why it is your favourite book.

We are looking forward to hearing more talks during the rest of this week and next week.

Maths

At home this week complete the following activity from the Home Learning Wall:

Create your own number story.

This can involve either addition or take away.

Have a look around you to help you with your number story.  For example, there were three bees buzzing around a flower.  One of them flew away so two bees were left.

Tell someone at home your number story.  You do not need to write your number story down to bring to school.

P1/2D Message!

Well done to my class for performing a fantastic assembly last week. You were all fabulous!

We can’t wait to hear all of your presentations this week.

Thank you for your on-going support,

Miss Davidson

P5F Reading Homework 7.6.17

The last few weeks of reading in P5F will be slightly different. We will be looking at different genres and the groups will be mixed slightly. The children will be told exactly what they have to read and we will complete follow up work in class.

Many thanks!

P5 Homework – 7th June 2017

P5 HOMEWORK

This week we will have Spelling and Numeracy homework. Your child should also be bringing home a reading book and they will be directed in school as to how much they should be reading each week.

Spelling

ch saying k (Greek origin)

Many words with ch as k are related to music or science

school

ache

headache

chemist

chemistry

chord

choir

chorus

orchestra

Christmas

character

mechanic

To practice your spelling this week I would like you to write out your words in alphabetical  order.

A spelling test will be done throughout the term (not necessarily weekly) to test spelling rules from more than one week. This will be done through dictation where the words will be part of a sentence.

Numeracy

Think of your weakest times table. Ask someone at home to test you on it. Try and learn this times table out of order. Once you feel confident enough, come to your teacher and they can test you on it. Always good to know your times tables!

Enjoy!

Have a lovely week!
