 P1 Koalas Reflective Friday 21.6.24

Hello everyone,

Here is a sample of our independent learning this week:

LITERACY

We were practising forming a b d j and i correctly.

We were writing about our trip to the beach and what we had enjoyed the most.

Please continue to practise the tricky words we have learned so far.

Block 1 – I the to was saw put he me is his want.

Block 2– you her she we be all are they come some said one were there into here do.

Write down the tricky words on a piece of paper or card, hold the cards behind your back then show them to your child and ask them to read the word you have shown them. Your child could practise writing these words, forming the letters the way they have been shown in class.

(If you are unsure about correct letter formation, please speak to one of us at the end of the day).

NUMERACY AND MATHS

We were focusing on sharing objects equally and describing equal groups. We talked about halves and quarters.

THINGS TO DO AT HOME

Talk about sharing items equally and use the terms half and quarter.

PE

We were dancing with Simon Says Dance and enjoyed learning some new moves.

RSHP

We watched a PowerPoint about personal hygiene and learned about the importance of keeping clean and handwashing.

GROWING PLANTS

The children have been growing nasturtium plants as part of their learning. They have brought them home today, the pots are a gift from us.

OUR TRIP

We had a wonderful trip to Longniddry beach. The sun shone and nearly everyone had a paddle in the sea. Lots of sandcastles were built and we enjoyed our picnics and ice creams. A big thank you to the mums who gave up their time to accompany us.

LOOSE PARTS

Next date for loose parts is Tuesday 25 June.

GOODBYE

This will be the last blog post for the P1 Koalas. We have loved watching the progress the children have made since starting P1 in August. We would like to thank all our families for their support. We hope that whatever you are doing over the summer you have a lovely time and wish our P1 Koalas all the very best in Primary Two.
